Incidents involving dropped objects and falls from heights are commonly occurring hazards that must be managed on construction sites. In response, our team in Abu Dhabi recently conducted a Health and Safety Awareness Campaign: Dropped Object & Working at Height for the project team.

The health and safety awareness campaign aimed to educate and mentor employees on the practical controls and potential consequences of dropped objects as well as the safe use of safety harnesses and the importance of maintaining 100% tie-off while performing elevated tasks.

The Health and safety awareness campaign included practical demonstrations:

• Dropped Objects; cause and effects
• Inspecting harnesses
• Proper steps for wearing a harness
• The ABCs of fall protection and maintaining 3-point contact while ascending/descending ladders
• Hazards and Control Measures of Work at Height

In addition, employees were provided with informational visual boards to reinforce the key points covered during the campaign.

The session concluded with a Q&A session, featuring great interaction and participation, demonstrating the team’s dedication to learning and their proactive engagement in safety practices.

The campaign not only aimed to enhance individual safety practices but also to cultivate a culture of vigilance and proactive hazard management across the site.
