CSR Initiative at Construction Week Awards 2020
For the third consecutive year, Douglas OHI has walked away with the CSR Initiative of the Year at the Construction Week Awards 2020 for the Autism Awareness and Education programme. The awards ceremony was held on 9 December at the JW Marriott Marquis, Dubai.
The judges believed that the initiative was a ‘bold and creative’ choice.
On Wednesday 9 December, Douglas OHI collected the Best HSE Initiative and Best Training Initiative Awards at the Dossier Construction’s Infrastructure Awards 2020.
Judges praised both initiatives for having a behavioural approach with a common embedded message. Both programmes are aimed at communicating safe and unsafe site practices in a bid to raise employee awareness about how to reduce accidents across the business.
Contractor of the Year 2020
Douglas OHI was named Contractor of the Year 2020 at the annual Construction Week Oman Awards..
Douglas OHI was recognised for demonstrating the best record of progress and delivery for clients across the board, whilst also maintaining an exemplary HSE record. Judges remarked that Douglas OHI had a proven track record of delivering complex projects consistently on time, within budget, and with a knowledgeable team.
Sustainability Initiative of the Year 2020
On Wednesday 2nd September, Douglas OHI collected the Sustainability Initiative of the Year award at the 2020 Construction Week Oman Awards.
The judges unanimously agreed that Douglas OHI is an excellent example to all when it comes to implementing sustainability initiatives. It’s clear that their approach to change and desire to improve their environmental impact is sincere. Judges were impressed by how Douglas OHI were truly changing attitudes and behaviours towards the environment as a whole.

Douglas OHI was delighted to take home the CSR Initiative of the Year award at the 2020 Construction Week Oman Awards for its Autism Awareness, Education, and Impact Programme.
The win recognised the contribution to the welfare of local communities as a whole and the development of employees. Judges said the winner has always been at the forefront of putting employees first and is another clear example of exactly how the company has provided a huge amount of support for local communities.
