The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Oman Hub brought together members and construction professionals from across the Sultanate for an evening of networking, collaboration and friendly competition.
Sponsored by Douglas OHI, the Bowling Night welcomed industry leaders, CIOB members and guests, reflecting the Institution's commitment to strengthening professional connections and supporting the continued growth of the construction community in Oman.
Hosted by Aaron Hennessy FCIOB CEnv, Chair of the CIOB Oman Hub, the event demonstrated that some of the most valuable professional conversations often take place away from the office and construction site. While the bowling lanes provided plenty of fun and friendly rivalry, the evening's greatest success was creating an environment where professionals from across the built environment could connect, exchange ideas and build lasting relationships.
The construction industry thrives on collaboration. Every successful project relies on strong partnerships, shared expertise and mutual trust. Events such as the CIOB Bowling Night play an important role in strengthening those connections, encouraging knowledge sharing and creating opportunities for professionals from across the sector to engage with one another in an informal setting.
As the world's leading professional body for construction management and leadership, CIOB is committed to advancing the science and practice of building for the benefit of society. Alongside promoting the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and competence, the Institution supports its members through continuous professional development, industry engagement and opportunities to build meaningful professional networks.
Aaron Hennessy, Managing Director, Douglas OHI said, “The strength of our industry lies in its people. While technical excellence is essential, it is collaboration, trust and strong professional relationships that enable us to deliver outstanding outcomes. Events like our Bowling Night provide an opportunity to step away from our daily responsibilities, connect with colleagues and peers, share experiences and strengthen the relationships that help move our industry forward.”
Douglas OHI, a CIOB Chartered Company, is proud to sponsor the event, reflecting its strong commitment to professional development and industry collaboration. Through its partnership with the CIOB Oman Hub, Douglas OHI continues to champion initiatives that invest in people, foster knowledge sharing, and elevate professional standards across the construction sector.
The CIOB Oman Hub continues to expand its programme of professional development, networking and industry engagement activities, creating opportunities for members to connect, learn and contribute to a stronger, more resilient built environment.
The Bowling Night concluded with prizes, laughter, and memorable moments, demonstrating that while the competition on the lanes was friendly, the evening's lasting success lay in the stronger connections forged among professionals who share a common commitment to shaping the future of construction in Oman.
