Douglas OHI Senior Management Conducts Walkthrough at KSA Employees Village

As part of its ongoing commitment to employee wellbeing and operational excellence, Douglas OHI senior management recently conducted a comprehensive walkthrough at the Employees Village located at one of the company’s key project sites in Saudi Arabia.

The walkthrough provided senior leaders with an opportunity to engage directly with the living and recreational facilities provided to the workforce, ensuring that accommodation standards meet both company policies and industry best practices. It also allowed management to observe first-hand the conditions under which employees live and relax outside of working hours - a crucial aspect of holistic workforce welfare.

Central to the walkthrough was a focus on the Environmental, Welfare, and Technical Controls (EWTC) implemented at the village. These controls are designed to create a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment, addressing everything from hygiene and sanitation to cooling and ventilation systems vital in the region’s demanding climate.

“EWTC represents our comprehensive approach to safeguarding our people beyond the construction site,” said a Douglas OHI spokesperson. “By integrating environmental and welfare considerations with technical standards, we ensure our employees can rest, recharge and maintain their wellbeing - which directly supports productivity and morale.”

The visit underscored the company’s philosophy that worker welfare extends beyond the site fence. Providing quality accommodation and amenities is an essential investment in workforce retention, safety culture, and overall project success.

Douglas OHI’s senior management reiterated their commitment to continuous improvement and open communication with employees. The walkthrough also served as a reminder of the importance of regular monitoring and feedback loops to ensure that welfare facilities evolve to meet emerging needs.

Maintaining high welfare standards is a fundamental part of Douglas OHI’s operational strategy, embodying a people-first ethos that reinforces the company’s standing as a preferred employer in the region.
