At Douglas OHI, safety is embedded in our DNA. As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the well-being of our workforce, the HSE Team in the UAE has launched a ‘Back to Basics’ campaign focused on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This initiative reinforces the importance of wearing the right PPE for every task, ensuring that all personnel are adequately protected on-site. The project team took everyone through the following:

· Safety Shoes: Prevents foot injuries causedby heavy objects, slips, or punctures.
Job-Specific PPE: Adapting to Workplace Hazards
Beyond the mandatory PPE, additional protective gear isrequired depending on the nature of the task:
· Earplugs & Ear Defenders: Reduce noiseexposure in high-decibel environments.

· High Visibility Safety Vest: Enhancesvisibility, especially in high-traffic areas.
· Full Body Harness: Essential for working atheight, ensuring fall protection.
· Tool Belt: Keeps essential tools within easyreach while maintaining balance and safety.
Hand Protection: Choosing the Right Gloves for the Task
Different tasks require specific types of gloves tosafeguard against workplace hazards:

PPE is just one aspect of a comprehensive safety framework. At Douglas OHI, we go beyond compliance - our goal is to build a culture where safety is second nature. Regular training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety audits ensure that PPE guidelines are not only understood but actively followed.
Our ‘Back to Basics’ campaign serves as a reminder that the right PPE can mean the difference between a near miss and a serious injury. By equipping our workforce with the knowledge and resources they need, we continue to uphold the highest health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards across all our operations.
To further support our commitment to a safe work environment, we also carried out a reward and recognition cereomy to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of those who consistently follow safety protocols. This initiative not only highlights the importance of PPE compliance but also fosters a culture of accountability and appreciation across the workforce. Through such efforts, we continue to make safety a core value at every level of our operations.
