Muscat, Oman – 09 July 2026 – The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Oman Hub today announced the appointment of Aaron Hennessy FCIOB CEnv as its new Chair, effective July 2026.
A proven industry leader with deep roots across the Middle East, Aaron Hennessy brings extensive strategic expertise, a passion for transformation, and a strong commitment to raising standards. As Managing Director of Douglas OHI, he has led organisational change, embedded sustainability at scale, and driven excellence in delivery across complex construction and infrastructure projects.
His appointment arrives at a defining moment for Oman’s construction sector as the Sultanate accelerates Vision 2040, a landmark programme of infrastructure development, industrial growth, and economic diversification. As Chair, Aaron will focus on fostering deeper industry collaboration, upholding the highest professional standards, nurturing emerging talent, and accelerating the adoption of innovative and sustainable construction practices.
