Recently, our project team in KSA conducted a mass Toolbox Talk (TBT) to reinforce our safety measures and protocols among all team members for working at height and safe lifting operations. These areas require meticulous planning, comprehensive training, and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Working at Height

Working at height is inherently risky and demands stringent safety measures to prevent accidents. At Douglas OHI, we have implemented a robust framework to ensure the safety of our employees who perform tasks at elevated levels. Our procedures include:

1. Risk Assessment: Prior to any work at height, we conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
2. Training: Employees are trained in the use of fall protection equipment, including harnesses, guardrails, and safety nets. Regular training sessions ensure that they are well-versed in current safety practices and equipment usage.

4. Safe Practices: Employees are instructed to always use appropriate fall protection gear and to follow safe practices such as maintaining three points of contact when climbing ladders and scaffolding.

During our recent mass TBT, these aspects were emphasised to ensure that every team member is fully aware of the importance of these practices and their role in maintaining a safe working environment.

Safe lifting operations are crucial to preventing injuries and ensuring smooth project execution. At Douglas OHI KSA, we follow stringent guidelines to ensure lifting tasks are performed safely and efficiently:

2. Training: Operators and riggers receive specialised training in the safe operation of lifting equipment such as cranes and hoists. This training covers load assessment, signaling, and emergency procedures.
3. Equipment Maintenance: Regular maintenance and inspection of lifting equipment are critical to ensuring their safe operation. Our maintenance protocols are rigorous, and any equipment showing signs of wear or malfunction is immediately taken out of service for repair.
4. Safety Protocols: Clear communication and adherence to safety protocols are essential. We use standardised hand signals and communication devices to ensure all team members are aware of their roles and responsibilities during lifting operations.
